What We Do.....
United Fire Training is a fire service continuing education firm out of Manchester, NH. Started in 2016, we provide training in the critical areas of firefighting utilizing specialized and portable training props. UFT will come to your firehouse or training facility to assist or conduct your departments monthly, quarterly, yearly or one time training. We also present regional trainings for mutual aid partners wishing to train together.
UFT has qualified and experienced active firefighters as instructing staff. They will assist you in refining your personnel’s skills in the essential functions of the fire service. Training in: SCBA and PPE familiarization, search and rescue, self-rescue, firefighter down, rapid intervention, hose movement, vent-enter-isolate-search, thermal imaging, ventilation, forcible entry and many more can be conducted by our instructors using our specialized props. UFT has developed a training prop that can be set up anywhere there is space both inside and outside of the firehouse.

Repetition creates skill – skill breeds confidence – confidence saves lives!
UFT employs Short Burst Scenarios. What Short Burst Scenarios provide is a real world feel by focusing on the first two to five minutes of the firefighter entering the fire building. When each scenario lasts a maximum of 5 minutes it increases the number of scenarios and the number of repetitions for each firefighter. When repetitions increase then skill increases. When skill increases, confidence grows; then we can start creating a culture of disciplined expedience.
What sets UFT apart from other training opportunities is our training philosophy coupled with our training props. Separately they are good tools however when used together they create a training experience not easily forgotten. The best part about our maze and props - we are mobile and travel to you!
The Hog Wall……
The Hog Wall system is a prop that UFT has designed and built for real world training inside the fire house. It is portable and modular as well as light weight and virtually indestructible. The Hog Wall system can be changed and adapted to create any number of mazes as well as any number of building and house floor plans.
In a maze configuration it’s all about refinement of skills. Getting familiar with PPE and SCBA as well as basic search patterns and overcoming obstacles are best accomplished utilizing the maze. Building confidence and ensuring the participant can handle the stresses of being a firefighter is the top priority.
Moving on to more real world scenarios is where UFT and The Hog Wall excel. Training in a maze is not realistic and acquired structures are few and far between. The UFT training props can bridge that gap. Using the modular design the instructors can design any number of building and floor plans from the community, even using doors and windows. What this creates is a platform to use the skills and techniques refined in the maze into a scenario that the firefighter could possibly encounter in their community.
